HOW TO SEARCH CODES AND STANDARDS

The search process for all codes and standards is the same. The below example shows the pathway for searching the Canadian Electrical Code. Use this pathway to search any of the available codes & standards the library subscribes to.

SAMPLE SEARCH: ACCESSING THE CANADIAN ELECTRICAL CODE

Step One:

Go to the Lakeland College Website Home Page. Choose "Current Students" then choose "Libraries".

Step Two:

On the Library landing page choose "Databases".

Step Three:

An A-Z list of databases will appear. Click on "C" and choose the Canadian Electrical Code. Please note that these codes work best with Firefox browser, especially if you wish to download content.

Step Four:

Clicking on the Canadian Electrical Code will take you to Techstreet Enterprise website. Choose  “View subscription details”.

Step Five:

Enter "Canadian electrical code” in the Search Box OR click on "View all products" to see an alphabetical list of codes & standards the library subscribes to. It is more efficient to type the name of what you are looking for in the search box.

Step Six:

Searching for the title "Canadian Electrical Code" gives 2 search results: the Handbook and Part I. Click on the product code above a title to view the most current version. You can search from within the code for individual specifications.

NOTE: If you are off-campus when accessing the codes and standards you will be prompted for a library barcode and PIN number. Follow the instructions found in the Remote Access (Off-Campus/No College Wifi) Tab below.
