Getting Started

There are basic steps to follow in order to do effective research and write a well-researched paper. When writing papers and essays, it is important to let the reader know the sources of your information and ideas.
Lakeland College students should always check with their course instructors for any specific requirements or preferences that may differ from the standard APA guidelines presented here.
In addition, resources like EasyBib and EBSCO's Citation feature do not give you perfect citations. Watch for improper capitalization and italics in particular.
This introductory online guide, created by the Lakeland College Library in partnership with the Commons, provides examples for citing some common resources in APA format. We also have a printable PDF APA citation guide available.
